The Penacook Community Center (PCC) is a non-profit, multi-purpose organization. We have a long history of service to the Greater Penacook Community. We opened in 1954 with a mission of providing the citizens of Penacook and surrounding towns opportunities for affordable, high-quality programs that support lifelong learning, wellness, independence and personal success for people of all ages. Our Community Center is enriched by the participation of each individual as they thrive to reach their full potential in an atmosphere that supports diversity and encourages reciprocal partnerships.
Our Vision:
To foster a caring community where all people have equitable opportunities to succeed.
A Long History of Serving Our Community
Building the Community Center began in 1948 and was truly a community effort. Throughout the construction phase, the men of Penacook spent their nights and weekends working on the projects, while the women hosted picnic suppers in Rolfe Park. Working through a number of obstacles, including a prolonged spell of cold and wet weather, the volunteer effort moved forward, driven by a single goal – to create a safe place for kids.
The Penacook Youth Center evolved into today’s Penacook Community Center to meet the needs of a much broader spectrum of people:
Youth Programs including early childhood education programs, before and after care for school-aged children and innovative summer and vacation camps
We are proud of PCC’s rich history and, although times have changed, the need in our community continues to grow for a safe place with affordable, quality programs that support lifelong education, health, and personal success for all ages.
