It is that time of year again when our Fantastic Summer Camp staff gears up for another action-packed fun-filled summer here at PCC!

Our Summer Day Camp offers a variety of exciting activities for campers ages 6 – 12. The campers are divided into age-appropriate groups each led by a head counselor who is assisted by a CIT from our counselor-in-training program. Our Summer Day Camp emphasizes an active atmosphere where unity and cooperation are encouraged and we take great pride in promoting a culture where all campers feel very comfortable and welcome. Our summer campers have ample amounts of outdoor activity time as well as indoor gym time, swim time, science and art project time, and cooking time. Campers travel to State Parks and Beaches for lots of fun in the sun and all campers participate in off-site mini trips. Each Friday is a special “Funtastic Friday” where the campers participate in everything from a Capture The Flag Tournament, Go for 20 Tournament, PCC Olympics, Robotics Invention Demonstrations, Eco- Adventures and Water Follies Week! The end of the summer is celebrated with PCC’s Annual Slide Show Event where all of the campers and their families are treated to a special slide show presentation highlighting all of the summer campers having fun at PCC!

Continuing this year…In conjunction with the University of New Hampshire, all of the summer campers will be participating in an exciting “hands-on” 4-H Green Thumb Jr. Master Gardener program at the Penacook Historical Society site! Our “PCC Jr. Planters” will be engaged in hands-on gardening that will provide them with the lifelong skills to plant, maintain, and harvest fresh healthy vegetables and fruit for themselves and their family! Our exciting “Extreme Teens” campers (13 – 16 year olds) will travel off site three days a week and experience hiking, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and biking, Boston trips, sports games and more! Each trip is designed to be an educational adventure in the great outdoors where the campers develop self-reliance, confidence, responsibility, and learn the importance of working effectively as a “team” and being able to take on a leadership role. Even though the campers will be challenged, these trips are designed so everyone can succeed and have fun. In addition to their off site trips, the Extreme Teens will join all of the PCC campers on their trips to State Parks and Beaches and they will participate in “Funtastic Fridays” at PCC with all of the PCC campers!

Our Counselor-In-Training program for 15+ year olds is considered a “job training” experience and it is designed for the young adult to gain experience in a summer camp setting with a combination of hands-on program experience with the 6 – 12 year old campers and direct training from the lead counselors and directors.

This year we will offer 9 weeks of summer camp beginning on Monday, June 21st running through August 20th. Due to the popularity of the Penacook Community Center’s Summer Camp Program, we ask that all registration forms be completed and returned to PCC along with your non-refundable $30 registration fee as soon as possible. This will secure a slot in the Summer Camp Program for your child. We will register campers on a first come first serve basis so please fill out the paperwork completely.
