We are excited to roll out our
NEW Lineup of Summer Camp Activities 2011!
This year PCC is FEATURING an “ARTIST IN RESIDENCE” during week of July 18-22!
Brochure available
Mr. Jeff Erwin is founder and creative director of TRASHCAN LID PRODUCTIONS – he is a juried member of the prestigious New Hampshire State Council on the Arts’ artist roster and is recognized as a master teacher in schools throughout New England. His work has been featured in numerous television and radio programs and in magazines and newspapers throughout the US!
Mr. Erwin will join the PCC staff and work together with our SUMMER CAMPERS as they explore their own creativity and individual expression while TURNING “JUNK 2 FUNK”! Throughout the entire week of July 18-22nd our summer campers will walk to the MVHS auditorium where they will work hand in hand with Mr. Erwin and learn about the importance of recycling & conservation:
- Protecting the environment and recycling materials
- Working together as a group towards a common goal
- Making good choices for responsible living
- Cultivating good citizenship & Creating positive community impact
They will also take an active role in Creating the Science of Sound – “FUNK” with a wide variety of found objects – “JUNK” through basic music theory, terminology and composition, percussion techniques, and lyrical poetry. The campers will be encouraged to go down a path of self-exploration that encourages them to take risks and work together towards a common goal. As a culminating activity, the children will participate in an interactive PCC SUMMER CAMPERS “JUNK 2 FUNK” performance on Friday July 22nd from 7-9pm in the air conditioned MVHS auditorium for family, friends and community members!
